I'll always love my Mopars. But I beat my head against the wall many a time trying to figure out how some got the gas mileage they got when I had the very same set up.

Optimum testing conditions would be my guess. And their "optimum conditions" probably bear little, if any, resemblance to real world driving conditions that we see every day. My '98 Ram 5.9 V8, on its' best day achieved 14-15 mpg and that was on a 500 mile trip at a steady 70 MPH. I didn't buy it for mileage, I bought it because I needed a truck - no complaints.

I love stomping the peddle of my Runner and I couldn't care less about the gas it uses.

My Charger with a built 408 small block gets between 8-9 mpg.

My daughter's 2013 Challenger (3.6 V6), She gets just over 20 and city driving and I've pulled 30 on the highway many trips.

          You win

For the record my Runner - 496 cu in - gets around 6 mpg on city streets and 9-11 mpg on the freeway if I keep my foot out of it, but where's the fun in that?
